A day at the chuckwagon barns
Posted by Aminah on July 10, 2012
This is probably the largest project I’ve ever worked on. I was asked to go behind-the-scenes with Codey McCurrach a rookie Rangeland Derby driver at this year’s Calgary Stampede. You can follow him on Twitter by clicking here. Over 15 hours of shooting. Nearly 2,600 photos. A wicked hilarious second-shooter who had never shot on manual before that day. Oh and sort of standing where neither of us should have been for the race. (Thanks Mike and Dean!) What a day!
To get the full experience, visit www.thechuckwagonrace.ca where you can read more about Codey and see all 500 photos we ended up cutting back to.
But I had to share… here are a few previews…

Thank you so much to the McCurrach family and the MCcurracing Team for letting us invade their privacy for 15 hours. It was a fantastic day that none of us will forget. And special thanks to Dale for his ninja coding skills who built and organized thechuckwagonrace.ca including the snazzy graph at the bottom of the page that oranizes the photos down to the second. :)
The photographers!
