For months I’ve been working on turning our old boring corporate newsletter into something people would actually take a few seconds to look at. Here after a very long wait is the first ever issue complete with my first magazine cover photo shoot with Olympic Champion, Sara Renner.

(Sara was the cross country skier in 2006 that famously broke her pole nearing the finish of her race. A Norwegian coach handed her one of his team’s and she went on to win silver.) I was so so so nervous about this shoot being my first real magazine shoot and a cover with a Canadian Olympic hero to boot!  After several “stop being so nervous and just shoot already” emails from fellow photogs (Thanks Harvey and Dylan!) I met up with Sara in Canmore and we had a great time. We got lots of great shots out of the shoot both indoor and outdoor. Sara’s off enjoying her retirement with her husband and daughter so I haven’t been able to get a hold of her for permission to post the other photos yet. But in due time they’ll be up here!
