Scott Kelby's 3rd Annual Photo Walk

This weekend was a busy one. A friend from Calgary was up with their new baby (Holy Crap! When did friends start having babies?) we had other friends over for a barbecue and I also participated in Scott Kelby’s Third Annual Photo Walk. What’s a photo walk you say? Exactly that! Picture about 50 photographers all descending upon the U of A campus. No stone, twig, or leaf unphotographed.

At first I wasn’t sure what to expect or what to shoot. I found out quickly that without a person to photograph, I am incredibly lost. Probably because I studied photojournalism where if there isn’t a person or some sort of human presence in the photo, it doesn’t get printed. So I looked throughout the campus and found a human presence. Words. Numbers. Language. So here are some of the photos. I have no idea if they’re any good or not. I felt totally out of my comfort zone. But it was kind of fun to try something totally new.

Oh and it was great to run into Rob and Lauren and the FJ boys.
