I always check out DIYphotography.net but have only tried to make one thing. (The JustFAB Turkey Beauty Dish—worked well but it kept falling off. I need better tape.) On this dull Tuesday afternoon, I decided to try making my own bokeh effect. Here’s the link on how to create it yourself.

I’d suggest getting one of those Martha Stewart scrapbooking hole-punches instead of trying to cut the shape out yourself. You can see that I didn’t quite get the edges so smooth. This was just some decoration our front receptionist had sitting near the Christmas tree in the lobby. I <3 Joyce. She never bats an eyelash when I come out with “crazy gizmos” attached to my camera.

Off to the dollar store and Michaels and I think I’m ready for some Christmas shooting.
